It is with a very heavy heart that the Moffat community mourns the loss of Amy Butler on June 5, 2026 . 

Ms. Butler taught Kindergarten and was a valued member of our school, and her loss touches our entire community. Ms. Butler was a kind hearted person whose smile lit up the room. She enjoyed being with her young learners; encouraging the excitement of learning new things. She loved children and being a kindergarten teacher. She will be deeply missed here at Moffat. 

In honour of Amy the flags at the school and the Waterloo Region District School Board Education Centre will be flown at half mast this week.

Our thoughts are with the Butler family at this time.
