To mark National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on Friday, December 6, flags at all Ontario government buildings, including Waterloo Region District School Board schools and worksites, will be flown at half-mast.

Every year, we remember the 14 female engineering students who were murdered at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal on December 6, 1989 by an act of gender-based violence. We also commemorate the missing and murdered Indigenous women, the trans-women, and each and every woman and girl in Canada and across the world whose lives have been harmed or lost to gender-based violence.

Join us on social media to take the pledge that you do not stand for gender-based violence using the hashtag #MyActionsMatter.
